Tonight’s game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville could be the game which ends the battle between veteran journeyman Patrick Ramsey and second year player Chase Daniel.
Despite Daniel’s strong showing against the Texans two weeks ago, Ramsey has an obvious edge because of his experience and the Saints will likely only carry two quarterbacks on the active roster.
However the chance exists, as slim as it is, that they both could end up on the final roster.
Rookie Sean Canfield, who was taken by the team in the seventh round of the NFL Draft earlier this month, was released earlier this week leaving only Daniel and Ramsey competing for the job.
Daniel is the fan favorite for the job and so far seems to have the slight edge on Ramsey being the younger of the two and the one more familiar with the Saints complicated offense.
