After being spoiled with three straight Saints games in a span of 10 days, we’ve gladly enjoyed some time away, mainly because it has helped our team get healthy! If you don’t know what’s at stake for this matchup, then what have you been watching all season?

As always, we start with some weekly power rankings for the Black & Gold:

  • ESPN: #2 (Previous Week: #4) +2
  • NFL.com: #2 (Previous Week: #4) +2
  • CBS Sports:  #2 (Previous Week: #5) +2
  • Fox Sports: #2 (Previous Week: #4) +2

With the Broncos & Chiefs taking a tumble, it was inevitable that the Saints would pass them up on the power rankings, and in true BCS College style college matchup type atmosphere, we are going to see the #1 vs. #2 matchup this week. The Saints leave Saturday to make the long journey to Seattle for a Monday Night Primetime Matchup with the Seahawks!

These two teams are damn near identical on the stat sheet. The Seahawks are scoring 27.8 points/game, and giving up 16.3 points/game. The Saints are scoring 27.7 points/games, and giving up 17.8 points/game. Both squads are 3-0 in their division, and 7-0 in the conference. I’ll save a few little gems for later in the article, but needless to say, hold on to your butts!
