Keys to the Game: Saints vs. Rams (Who Dat Dish)

Wow, do you remember when we opened the season against Atlanta in Week 1? How are we already to just three games remaining in the Saints regular season? It’s depressing that it feels that things goes by so fast, and then the we have to inevitably face the offseason, which lasts so long (eternity for me).

Last week, the Saints had a huge task facing the red-hot Panthers, who were winners of their last 8 games. It was built up as a battle for the NFC South, but what happened shocked many, as the Saints steamrolled the Panthers 31-13. The offense & defense returned to form after the grueling 34-7 loss to the Seahawks, and the Saints now control their own destiny.

Welcome back to another edition of Keys to the Game

As always, we start with some weekly power rankings for the Black & Gold:

  • ESPN: #3 (Previous Week: #5) +2
  • NFL.com: #3 (Previous Week: #2) +2
  • CBS Sports:  #4 (Previous Week: #4) EVEN
  • Fox Sports: #3 (Previous Week: #5) +2

So, in most cases, it’s the Seahawks & Broncos as the top seeds, and they are the talk of all Super Bowl chatter at this point. Who cares? None of that honestly matters. You can make what you will of power rankings of course, but saying the Saints are ranked 3rd? I would definitely agree that that’s probably right where they belong.

We have a date with the Rams in a cold St. Louis Sunday. I don’t have to tell you this, but if you know anything about the Saints-Rams history, this is not even close to being an easy game for the Saints.
