Saints to re-sign CB Chris Carr

The New Orleans Saints will re-sign reserve cornerback Chris Carr, less than a week after he was waived by the team. Carr’s agent, Buddy Baker, announced the move via his Twitter.

Carr was waived on November 2nd, when the Saints activated linebacker Jonathan Vilma from the injured reserve list. Vilma returned to action in Sunday’s loss to the Jets. The Saints will need to waive another player to make room for the addition of Carr.
Carr, a ninth-year player out of Boise State, has recorded four tackles and a pick for the Saints this season. He’s added depth for the Saints at cornerback and an option in nickel sets, with Jabari Greer and Keenan Lewis as the starters at the corners.

Saints Nation Grades: Midseason Report Card

The Saints are 6-2 at the half way point and we’ve got 8 games of grades to go with now. Overall the grades are pretty good, but of course the offense is way down and the defense is way up compared to last year. Below I’ve listed every player I’ve graded, through 8 games, from best to worst. To “qualify” you had to play a minimum of  4 “graded” games. My offensive player of the midseason is Jimmy Graham, my defensive player of the midseason is David Hawthorne and my special teams player of the midseason is Thomas Morstead. Thomas Morstead 3.58 (8 games graded)

Jimmy Graham 3.17 (8 ga..

From Reid to Alonso, top rookies on D

The big-play guys among NFL rookies this year are getting themselves noticed more on defense than offense. How odd, considering the way the league is so skewed toward piling up points.
