With a number of teams looking for quarterback help, the Saints promoted one they didn’t want to let get away. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Saints are elevating quarterback Ryan Griffin from the practice squad to the active roster.

Griffin’s addition now gives the Saints three quarterbacks on the active roster, which likely isn’t a necessary move. But the move may have been one to protect Griffin from other teams with injured quarterbacks trying to sign him.
