At this point, it looks like an issue with Entergy, who supplies power to the building. Thornton says there are two feeder lines that go into the Superdome and that there was an issue with one of the lines.

Super Bowl Power Outage: Lights Go Out At Superdome During Ravens-49ers Super Bowl

NEW ORLEANS — The Super Bowl was halted for 34 minutes because of a power outage Sunday night, plunging parts of the Superdome into darkness and briefly leaving TV viewers of the biggest game of the year with no football and no explanation why. The Baltimore Ravens were leading the San Francisco 49ers 28-6 when most of the lights in the 73,000-seat building went out with 13:22 left in the third quarter.

John Harbaugh: "I way overreacted" to power outage | ProFootballTalk
Although Harbaugh didn’t get into specifics about what he was angry about, it appeared that he thought the 49ers were getting an unfair advantage because the power on their sideline wasn’t out, so they were still able to use their sideline-to-booth communications, while the Ravens’ communications system wasn’t working. Under NFL rules, if one team’s communications go out, the other team isn’t supposed to be able to use theirs.

SaintsWin gives a brilliant summary of the 2013 NFL season.

SaintsWin: Opinion & Analysis: On Roger Goodell and the Media
It’s clearly not a coincidence that, suddenly, article after article repeats a familiar message that goes something like this: Goodell saved the Saints and the Superdome after Katrina, or; Goodell is faced with making tough choices to "change the culture," or; Goodell is a good-humored guy because [insert incredibly lame anecdotal story from 25 years ago here], or; Saints’ fans shouldn’t embarrass their city by expressing their disdain for Goodell.

Ed Reed To The Saints?

ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinskas discussed the possibility of Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed joining the New Orleans Saints this offseason.
Yasinskas points to the fact that Reed is a Louisiana native and could be open to the idea of ending his illustrious career in his home state. Yasinskas adds that after a woeful season on defense, under the now-fired Steve Spagnuolo, the Saints could really use some experience on that side of the ball.
Reed, who had an interception in the Ravens’ 34-31 Superbowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers last night, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. The Saints are moving to a 3-4 base defense, so they’ll have to be careful with how they use their cap space in the coming months. Still, it’s an interesting idea, if nothing else.
