The Atlanta Falcons weren’t the only squad to add rookie talent in April . While every team has added important pieces to the respective rosters, there will always be a special place for keeping tabs on rival squads and what sort of talent they’ve brought in for the upcoming season .

One New Orleans Saints‘ player who had a good season amidst a bad season for the team in 2012, was wide receiver Lance Moore. The seven-year veteran racked up a career high 1,041 yards receiving, while averaging 16.0 yards per catch. Now, going into his eighth year in the league, Moore realizes that his role on the team is changing.
“It’s funny because I am the oldest, the guy that has been in the league the longest of the receivers. So it’s funny to look at me like the old guy, but I still have a lot of ball left in me. Marques Colston, Courtney Roby and myself are doing what we can to bring the younger guys along. We have some younger guys coming in as well, we have a pretty good group,” said Moore.
One of the young guys Moore will be mentoring, is former Wisconsin standout Nick Toon. The Saints’ fourth round pick a year ago, unfortunately had his rookie season end, before it began. He’s now fully recovered from the foot injury that sidelined him, and without question, he’s the most intriguing young Saints’ receiver to watch in 2013.
Moore, Colston, and Roby are the only receivers on the roster with at least three years experience. So overall, it’s a very inexperienced group of receivers in New Orleans.
It will be challenging for Moore to get back his 2012 level of production, but I think he can do it. He’s said that even though he’s now one of the older guys on the team, that he still has it. He’s set to turn 30 in August, but he should still be productive for several more years. Especially, with Drew Brees tossing him the ball.

Former New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers running back Chuck Muncie suffered heart failure and died in his Los Angeles-area home on Monday, the Associated Press reports.
Muncie, the No. 3 overall pick of the 1976 NFL draft, had turned 60 in March.
Muncie spent the first four-plus seasons of his career with the Saints, rushing for 3,393 yards and 28 touchdowns in 59 games and earned Pro Bowl honors in 1979 before he was traded to the Chargers midway through the 1980 season. Muncie ranks fifth in Saints’ history in rushing yards, is third in rushing touchdowns and is a member of the Saints’ Hall of Honor.
“Sadly, we have learned of the untimely passing of Chuck Muncie,” said New Orleans Saints Owner Tom Benson. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and other loved ones at this difficult time.”
In 51 games over his four-plus seasons in San Diego, Muncie ran for over 3,300 yards with 43 touchdowns, a number that still ranks second in Chargers’ history. Muncie led the NFL with 19 rushing touchdowns in 1981 and scored eight more touchdowns in a nine-game, strike-shortened season in 1982, earning Pro Bowl honors after each season.
“It’s disheartening and when I got the call it shook me up quite a bit,” former Chargers guard Ed White said. “He was a great guy and a wonderful teammate. I loved him to death. The thing that I see when I close my eyes is his happy face, his smile and his kindness to everyone.”
Muncie struggled with drug abuse during and after his playing career and in 1989 he received 18 months in federal prison after being convicted for cocaine distribution. Following his release from prison, Muncie dedicated himself to the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation where he worked with at-risk youth.
