Should Saints have offered draft pick compensation for Peters? – USA Today Saints News





New Orleans secondary is in great hands with Marshon Lattimore, hopefully for the next decade. However, with the league continuing to spiral towards all-pass everything, should they have offered more than the Los Angeles Rams to acquire cornerback Marcus Peters?

Los Angeles traded away just a 2018 fourth-round selection along with a 2019 second-round pick for the right to Peters. Oh, and the Chiefs sent the Rams a sixth rounder this year along with Peters.

Peters is possibly under control for the next two seasons. As a first-round rookie in 2018, the Rams will now have until May to exercise the fifth-round option on the two-time Pro Bowler.
