Former Pro Bowl RB DeMarco Murray declines workout with the
Saints – (Yardbarker)

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints reached out to Murray to bring him into New Orleans for a workout Wednesday, but he declined.
“…he preferred not to work out with a large group of RBs, per source,” Schefter wrote on his Twitter account. “Murray still waiting for right opportunity and believes he is ready to make a significant contribution in 2018.”
It sure seems kind of like Murray is being a bit of a snob here. Competition in the NFL is everything.
Last season, Murray did manage to put up 925 yards and seven touchdowns from scrimmage. However, he averaged just 3.6 yards per carry and suffered a knee injury late that kept him on the shelf throughout the Tennessee Titans’ playoff run.
For a couple seasons in Dallas back in 2013-14, Murray was one of the most effective running backs in the league. He piled up 2,966 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground those two seasons. Since then, it’s been an up-and-down ride for the former Pro Bowler, who has spent more time in the valleys than at the peak of his career.
