New Orleans finally got over their long streak of 0-2 starts against the Browns in Week 2. Here are the Saints who sizzled and the Saints who fizzled. It was a long, long way from pretty. In fact, in Sean Payton’s own words, it was “sloppy”. But, in the end, the Saints pulled out a 21-18, come from behind, win in the Superdome on Sunday in Week 2 against the hapless Cleveland Browns. It’s hard to tell where the Saints are at this point. Cleveland obviously has a pretty strong defense. But they aren’t exactly setting the world on fire on offense and the Saints only came out on top against them due to some of the worst kicking we’ve seen in the Superdome in quite a while. Two turnovers by Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn almost sunk the Saints. But, in the end, Browns kicker Zane Gonzalez was the deciding factor. Two missed field goals and two missed extra points doomed Cleveland to keeping their long-standing winless streak alive and well. There were some things to be optimistic about and some definite concerns for the Saints in this win. The biggest news is that this one breaks a streak of 0-2 starts dating back to 2013. But there are plenty elements to work on in addition to strengths on which to build for this team heading into Week 3 and a visit to Atlanta as Hate Week 2018 Part One gets underway. Here are the Saints who sizzled and the Saints who fizzled in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
