Drew Brees and Michael Thomas delivered the “KILL SHOT” to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Brees and Thomas connected on a 72-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the win over the Rams. Thomas set a New Orleans Saints franchise record with 211 receiving yards on 12 catches from his future “Hall of Fame” QB. Former Saints Wide Receiver, Wes Chandler, set the record over 39 years ago.
After the play, Thomas channeled his “Inner-Joe Horn” and located one of the two “flip styled cell phones” he planted after the touchdown. His celebration cost the Saints 15 yards on the kickoff. The Saints defense withstood the offensive assault from the Rams and forced them to turn over the football on downs.
The Saints defeated the Rams, 45-35, and remained in first-place in the NFC South and a half game behind the Rams in the NFC.
