Saints QB Drew Brees forced to Defend His Character (Video) Saints News

Questions surround Saints’ Drew Brees’ connection to Focus on the Family.

As the Saints prepare to defend the Superdome and Who Dat Nation against J.J. Watt and the Houston Texans, Drew Brees found himself in the crosshairs of a local website.

Drew Brees personifies a man of faith with strong integrity and character since his arrival to New Orleans. Yesterday, a local website’s article had leading implications which threatened to damage Drew’s impeccable image. Implying “guilty by association” because of Focus on the Family’s opposing views on the LGBTQ community.

Why? Drew’s video for Focus on the Family’s “Bring your Bible” to school campaign geared toward supporting student’s rights to express their Christianity.

Drew defended himself. The question remains to why Brees should have been connected with negativity to the LGBTQ community. Was it a personal opinion gone awry? Was it an attack on Focus on the Family? Whatever the case, it occurred against one of New Orleans most beloved athletes and statesmen.
