We Have No Interest in the Player (Antonio Brown) – Sean Payton Saints News

New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton mentioned in Saturday’s Press Conference with the media the team has no interest in Antonio Brown.

REPORTER: “You always mention the fluid nature of a roster. especially at the beginning of the season. When a player, of the caliber, like in Antonio Brown suddenly becomes available, the Raiders cut him, you all would probably out there in practice, how much is that cause you to take a look at what y’all have, and then the talent level guy like Brown available?

COACH PAYTON: “Yeah, I think with each player it’s different. And it’s just a matter of what you’re looking for and the vision, but, I mean, right now or focus is obviously on this game, our roster and so, uh, you know, if you’re asking if we have any interest in the player, No.

The Saints had no interest in Antonio Brown, but the Patriots did. New England signed him to a 1-year contract valued up to $15 million with a $9 million sign-on bonus.

The Saints go into Monday Night’s game versus the Texans without free-agent acquisition Mario Edwards, Jr. at DT/DE listed OUT of the game.
